Hi dudes,
just curious to know what are your favorite virtual instruments.
I love so much Reaktor and Korg Legacy Collection. The software version of MS-20 is, now, very close to real one and is very nice to use the USB controller to patch it realtime

Cheers,
Luca

I actually don't use virtual instruments that much. But at the moment i'm frequently away from my synths and so I use the Korg Legacy Collection for rehearsal.

Sometimes I use "Virtual Guitarist" when writing songs, just to get an idea of what our guitarist might play at some parts. But in my opinion this is not a real Virtual Instument

I haven't used VST instruments too much, but I've used sample tank 2 for a while now and it had some nice organ sounds! I've tried the korg legacy demo and I liked it. One question: It's obviously on its way out of the market. It has a 62% discount many places that I've seen, so I was wondering if it's worth getting one now, or should I wait and see if someone releases something new in the future?

My personal favourite and and most used too, it's the N.I B4 2. But i also love Arturia Arp 2600.

Salvo.

Default Ok, here I go

Well, all I have so far are free (and also LEGAL) VST synths. In no particular order:

(1) Synth1: Unbelievable!!! You just have to try it, and by the way, version 1.07 (no more beta) have been released today 5/3/06. Check it out.

(2) Crystal: Again, an absolutely fantastic sound quality. Awesome pads, awesome modulation capabilities.

(3) Wusikstation: Currently I am using v1 that comes with CM magazine. Really good samples, filters, and modulation matrix. Can't imagine how version 3 will sound like. Take notice that I don't really care for how accurate the samples are to the real thing. I am more interested in synthesized sounds, for now at least.

(4) Zebra2: I am currently using the demo version, and I am saving for the full version. Just awesome. Endless possibilities, and a nice GUI too.

(5) Oatmeal 36-1: Well, that's what you get for hanging out for too long @ KVR. A wonderful synth, albeit a small GUI, and that Randomize button....oh man.

(6) MinimogueVA: It might not be the most accurate simulation to a mini, but this the closest I ever got to one. Nice oscillators, filters. To my ears, it sounds pretty good.

If you wanna try any of these just go to www.kvraudio.com and search the plugin database they have.

Best.

The only one I have is Gmedia Minimonsta and is excelent. Very fat analog sounds, much fatter than anything I could do with my Fantom X7. I'm planning on using it live, but it's so scary to get a computer crash just when soloing. I would just trust Apple Laptops, specially the last Macbook Pro, Windows XP is ok but not that stable yet. It really depends, my compaq laptop has crashed some times, so that backs me down of using it live.

I had another thing in mind. How many of you have actually tried the Minimonsta and also the Arturia Minimoog V. What differences do u find between the two, which one do u like better and why? I really love the Minimonsta, but Arturia is very appreciated so theirs must be also cool.
