Default Nuendo 3 Fantom recording problems...

Hey all, i just recently got Nuendo 3, im not very used to it yet, however one of the main things annoying me is that i cant get it to use my Fantom X6 as a instrument to record from.

Nuendo knows the fantom is there, and i think it sees it as a MIDI input, but does anyone know how i go from there to make it so i can record in nuendo with the fantom?

its driving me insane, every recording program ive ever had, i have had this same problem!!!

i never had this problem with my Novation X-station, mainly because i think it has a usb ASIO thing, and most programs recognise it as a instrument input capable of recording from

does anyone have any solutions or anything?

i really need to get recording soon because my art college are putting together an exhibition and as part of it your able to submit sound scapes and music to be put on display(for people to listen to) so i need to get recording fast

thanks to all that can help ^_^

I just had the same problem with my crap casio, i reason wouldn't pick it up and whenever i played a note nothing would come out, so i emailed m-audio (which is my audio interface) and they said to get a program called MIDI-OX and from there open it up go to options MIDI devices and see if your Fantom is in there if it is click on it and it should open the ports, granted i was trying to get sound from reason and use my crap casio as the controller, im sure it works the same way.

it's just an idea, i had basically the same problems just reversed.

Maybe your problem is that Nuendo detects your Fantom as a MIDI I/O only.

So you play your Fantom, and MIDI goes into the DAW, but you hear no sound. Plug your Fantom to your audio interface, set your MIDI track out to Fantom X6and record MIDI. When you playback, you should hear the actual program that you have selected on your X6.

And that's because your DAW is sending MIDI information back to the X6 and the keyboard is playing those notes... hope it helps

thanks for that man, but i decided to just go back to Adobe Audition 3.0

i just connect my Fantom to my X-Station and that feeds through it into the laptop via the USB from the Xstation,

it seems to be working smoothly for me this time around so all is well

thanks tho
